Annapolis photographer, David Anderson.
Certified Professional Photographer serving the Greater Baltimore, Washington DC, and Annapolis areas.
Do a web search for “Annapolis photographer”, and lots and lots of names and websites will show up. However, Dave Anderson is one of only a handful of Annapolis photographers who is actually a full-time professional. Photography is not just a hobby for him, it’s how he makes his living. For that reason, he has to provide excellent photography and superior service. Dave is also one of the few Annapolis photographers with a real studio in a professional, commercial location. He can also go to your home, outdoors, or to any other location. Dave’s friendly personality, professionalism, and casual style set him apart from other photographers. All of these qualities have made David Anderson the most referred Annapolis photographer, and a top photographer on Angie’s List for both the Baltimore and Washington regions.
In addition to family, pet, and business portrait photography, Dave’s photography has appeared in literally hundreds of books, magazines, newspapers, and on TV and websites around the world. He has worked with and photographed many performers and celebrities including actors Halle Barry and David Hasselhoff, and singers Diana Ross and Amy Lee (Evanescence) – to name just a few. Noted sports figures he has met and photographed include Billy Jean King, and several players for the Washington Redskins.
Dave’s photography skills have also led him to the peaks of the political world, where he has photographed presidents, vice presidents, first ladies, Members of Congress, Supreme Court Justices, and more. A couple of his favorite stories include organizing a group photo that included President George Bush and First Lady Barbara, and the time when Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy introduced him to Gen. (and Sec. of State) Colin Powell.
Cindy McCain, wife of U.S. Senator John McCain, selected Dave to make their official family portrait during her husband’s 2000 Presidential bid on the Republican ticket. To balance out the politics, he also provided photography for Democratic U.S. Senator Ben Cardin in his first Senate race in 2006. Dave often works on Capitol Hill photographing various senators and representatives meeting with their constituents. He has also provided the photography for the 2009, 2011, and 2013 editions of “The Almanac of the Unelected”, which is the comprehensive guide to key Congressional staff and committee members (published every two years by Bernan Press and available on Amazon and elsewhere).
In addition to people, Dave has a very wide range of commercial photography experience with small businesses and non-profits, as well for some of the largest corporations in the world. As an example, he traveled coast-to-coast for over seven years as a contract photographer for Mobil Oil Corporation. Meeting up with a writer at each location, Dave created images for a wide gamut of trade magazines, and for various industrial ads and brochures for Mobil. Projects included shooting from a cat walk high above the molten steel wire coming out of a mill in Illinois, capturing robotic welders on an assembly line at the Honda Motor plant in Ohio, and eluding the alligators that surrounded a water pumping station he was shooting in the Florida Everglades. One of the most challenging assignments was on a tug boat in the middle of a hot, muddy, and very humid Mississippi River. Other assignments have taken him to Maine, Texas, California, and almost every state in-between. Plus, he has done photography in Europe, the Caribbean, and Mexico, and has provided catalog and advertising photography for an amazing array of products ranging from caskets, to jewelry, and to medical equipment.
Few photographers anywhere in the world have the wide-ranging experience of Annapolis photographer, David Anderson.
“Whether it’s portrait or commercial, David Anderson’s focus is on making YOU look good.”
