We get lots of calls from people just like you who Don't like the contract pictures they had taken, or who just Don't want to go through that hassle. At David Anderson Photography, there's no hassle! We're not a big studio where you're just a number. We're a small local studio where you'll always get top-notch personal service, and photography by David Anderson, who is the only Certified Professional Photographer, complete with a Photographic Craftsman degree, in Annapolis (basically, that means that he knows his stuff!). At David Anderson Photography, the emphasis is always on you. Your session should be fun ¾ because if you have a great time, you'll feel good. And if you're comfortable, you'll look great! Your session will be custom-tailored to give you just what you want, and only what you want. If you just want a basic session to satisfy the parents, that what you'll get. On the other hand, if you also want something more ... like an outdoor session, or a few shots with your best friend ... you can get that, too. Your session will be just what you want it to be.
You'll look incredible.
Think picture-taking has to be awkward, with fake smiles and bogus, boring backgrounds? Think again. At David Anderson Photography, you select the styles of photography you like (see descriptions below). Mr. Anderson knows how to make you look your very best (hey, he's been doing this for a long time). He'll pick backgrounds that fit your outfit and personality. Plus, it's amazing what he can do with lighting. He can make one background look red, blue, black or even white, just by lighting it in certain ways ¾ imagine what he can do for you. Plus, unlike those "other guys", David Anderson Photography includes normal facial retouching at no additional cost. And, for those things that might need a little extra touch-up (like stray hair, braces, or tan lines), you have the option of getting them fixed, too!

The biggest fear many seniors have is "What if they Don't turn out?" After all, you Don't get to see the results until after you've paid your money! Lots of Session Choices.
At David Anderson Photography you Don't get stuck with pictures you Don't like. You can actually build your session from these five different session modules, so you get what you want, and your folks can get what they want. Each module contains 20-30 different poses in up to two outfits. (For example, if you select three sessions, you would get at least 60 poses to choose from, in up to six outfits.)
Traditional Session. The classic look, designed to stand the
test of time. Simple, painted canvas backgrounds with head and
shoulders and waist-up poses ... kinda like what your parents
had, but updated for the 90’s.
Suggested Clothing: jacket and tie for the guys (we also have tuxes) ... a dressy outfit for the girls (we also have "v-drapes" for a formal look). Solid colors and long sleeves recommended. Bring either 2 of your own outfits, OR use our tux (or drape) and one of your own outfits.
Contemporary Session. A more "modern" session, with dramatic lighting and zappier backgrounds.
Suggested Clothing: Casual clothing
... sweatshirts, jeans, eta. ... long sleeves recommended. Bring
up to 2 outfits.
Activities Session. What your "thing"? A car ... musical instrument ... pet ... uniform ... sports outfit/gear ... friend ... hobby ... you name it. Bring it to your Activities session to help express your personality!
Suggested Clothing: Casual, or something related to the activity (a uniform, musical instrument, eta.). Bring up to 2 outfits, or props.
Outdoors Session. We have several places right
outside our studio that work great for outdoor portraits (weather
permitting), including a white rail fence with trees, and brick
walls for that "urban" look.
Suggested Clothing: Blues, greens, grays, and other solid colors in medium to darker tones. Bring up to 2 outfits.
Beach Session. New! We have a great beach location at a park about 15 minutes from the studio. Although it's not the ocean, we can make it look like it is! (Obviously, since the beach is also outdoors, you won't need the outdoor session mentioned above!.)
Note: Because of the extra time involved, this session is $49 additional.
Suggested Clothing: Beach or other outdoor attire - whites and pastels
look great! Flip flops and bare feet are cool, too! You'll dress
at the studio before we go in 1 outfit.
We have a wide range of package plans so that there is always one just right for you. For example, you could get an 8x10, some 5x7's, and some wallets for just $195. Or you could get a 20" Wall Portrait and a bunch of smaller ones for less than $700. But, the choice is yours and our packages are flexible so that you can get exactly what you want for the amount you want to spend. (We also have some great add-ons that you won't find anywhere else, such as iPod or MySpace movies of your favorite poses, and Portrait StoryBooks - ask to see examples!)
Don't pay too much!
Going to a "cheaper" studio can actually cost you more! That exactly what can happen if you choose a studio with "lower" prices. If you Don't like the pictures, it doesn't matter how "cheap" they were ¾ they're still too expensive! Don't let this happen to you! At David Anderson Photography, you always get much more than you pay for!
| First | Before you call: Decide which sessions you'd like (see above). You need to pick your sessions before you call so that we can schedule enough time to do a great job without rushing you. Most seniors choose their favorite two or three sessions for maximum variety and fun. |
| Next | Pull out your credit card (you'll need to pay your session fee to reserve your appointment time), then pick up the phone and dial 410-224-6049 to schedule your session. Many of the best time slots get taken early, so Don't wait until the last minute. We stay pretty busy, so please be patient if you get a busy signal or have to leave a message. We'll call you right back. |
| Then | Relax. we'll do our absolute best to prepare you for your session. we'll send you some ideas and samples in the mail that tell you what to wear, what to bring, and where we are. |
Although we supply you with yearbook prints free of charge (if you choose the Traditional session and buy a package), not all schools will use yearbook prints other than those supplied by their contracted photographer. For this reason, you may want to go to the school gym or auditorium on the day you are scheduled and have only the yearbook photo made (usually less than $10). You will then be free to come to our studio to get the photos you'll want to keep for yourself, and the ones you'll want to give to family and friends.
At David Anderson Photography, you'll get what you want, and you'll have fun. We don't contract with any school, because we believe quality photos that you enjoyed making are much better than some "cheesy" photo you had made on a hot school stage with a line of people waiting behind you.
